The multiple levels of ‘priority boarding’ hooha has always seemed ridiculous to me, but it was even sillier yesterday. Boarding an Alitalia flight from Milan to JFK, we went through the ‘families-with-babies and people needing extra help’ first (which is perfectly fine) and thence to the complex hierarchy of super-elites, normal elites, and then sort-of-elite priority boarding.
