It’s Detroit vs. San Francisco

The World Series this year will be a matchup between two blue state teams: the Detroit Tigers and the San Francisco Giants.

The Tigers will begin the series somewhat rested, having swept the New York Yankees. The Giants will begin the series as the happy victors of a come-from-behind series win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Coincidentally, the Yankees, Giants and the Cardinals were the last three teams to win the World Series… in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Detroit, on the other hand, hasn’t been to the Series in a while.
